Air Head lives up to expectation!

Hi Carol.......its been a long time but have finally installed and now used the Air Head .....had many other projects and problems on the boat so the head installation slipped down the priority list somewhat. But as I expected, the unit has truly lived up to its reputation, of course I already knew from my experience with composting toilets (that are designed  well), that it would indeed work well.

I am totally pleased with its operation....one of the most interesting things has been with the installation of the solar powered fan unit etc that you recommended....even without a standby input from the boat battery the little fan runs on its own power through the night...gets recharged the next day, even on a cloudy day...ready for the next night. It seems they have vastly improved the capacity of solar cells these days.  

I find it strange and somewhat annoying that there is so much prejudice against composting toilets....the Air Head in my opinion makes the operation of the typical pump head a complete joke. I know there are some powerful suction types that are extremely expensive....more like the systems on planes that do work....but who wants all that complexity on a small average size sail boat! No matter how well kept and clean flush toilets are, you still can't get rid of the ususal in-use smells!!
