BioSok® Test

19 May 2011 4:22 PM - Day by Day Evaluation

Watch as we test the BioSok® to see if it really does what it claims to.

We have set up some test scenarios to demonstrate what actually happens to oil and diesel when the incredible BioSok® is added to the mix.

We will be taking photos of the tank at strategic intervals and posting them here so that you can share in the real time trial.

Feel free to post your comments.

That's A Better Way To Go.

Trial #1

Click the download button at the bottom of the page to see the results of Trial #1, where BioSok® was added to a tank containing water, fuel and oil.

Trial #2

Following the end of Trial # 1, sump oil is added to the water already in the tank, without changing the BioSok®. This is to simulate the ongoing process of the BioSok® in your bilge, for the duration of a season.

Day 1

  • 1/2 Litre sump oil is added to the tank containing the original 6 Litres of tap water.
  • The original BioSok® used in Trial #1 was retained.

Day 2

  • Surface oil has covered the entire surface on the tank water.
  • BioSok® has begun to absorb oil and change colour.

Day 5

  • The processing of the oil is taking longer than with the clean fuel and oil, in Trial #1.
  • The BioSok® has soaked up more of the sump oil today.

Day 10

  • The colour of the sump oil has changed from black to brown.
  • The consistency of the oil is lighter and there are many 'globules' on the surface.
  • THERE IS NO FUEL/OIL ODOUR!

Day 26

  • Volume of sump oil has greatly reduced and the colour is significantly lighter.
  • The surface of the BIOSOK® is excreting a pale mix of oil and BIOSOK®, as the oil is 'processed'.

Day 36

  • Sump oil is continuing to decrease in volume and decome lighter in colour and density.

Day 49

  • Although taking its time, the sump oil is clearly diminishing. Best of all, there is absolutely NO ODOUR.
  • The Sok continues to soak oil in and discharge clear water. Compare Day 1 to Day 49! And the Sok is still full of active ingredients.Lots of life left in it yet.

Day 70

  • The water is quite clear, with only remenants of the partially processed oil remaining.
  • The BioSok is still quite full of product and appears capable of continuing to operate for many months to come. In a real situation in a bilge, we would expect the water purification to continue until the BioSok sleeve is empty.
